Cisneros Law Firm was founded in 1996 when founder Dorian Cisneros decided to dedicate his practice to helping the immigrant community. Mr. Cisneros came from a small town in Ecuador, his family worked hard in the sun, from very early in the morning until sundown to provide a decent living for their family. They did not have the opportunity to seek help from attorneys or people in power when a landlord would take advantage of them or when federal agents stopped them when they went to work. Mr. Cisneros always imagined what it would have been like to have an attorney by their side that could help them get out of trouble or help them keep their business, their home and their hard work. At that time there were no immigration attorneys dedicated solely to the immigrant community.
Mr. Cisneros worked at an immigration law office for several years becoming familiar with all aspects of immigration law . In 1995 he decided to launch his own law firm with one mission: to serve the immigrant community of greater Houston. A year after, Mr. Cisneros organized a group of attorneys to open a non-profit organization called Ciudad Legal to help immigrants file petitions for Asylum, VAWA, Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) cases, Motions to Reopen and Adjustment of Status. Most of the cases were pro bono and the attorneys provided excellent counsel to alleviate the suffering of the immigrant community.
